Where are you located?

We are 4 miles West of Estes Park, Colorado on HWY 34 (Fall River Rd).

This is about one mile from the Fall River entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Are you on the River?

We are located off the valley floor and have wonderful views instead of being down on the river. Check out our blog for pics of the great views!

 

What is Check-in / Check-out time?

Check in: Anytime after 3:00 pm

Check out: by 11:00

 

Is breakfast included?

We do not have any food service on the property, but most of our cabins do have a fully equipped kitchen for any and all of your cooking needs!

What are your rates?

We have a wide variety of cabins, rooms and suites.

Depending on when you arrive, for how long, and how many people will be staying, they rate can vary a great deal.

Do you require a deposit?

We require a two night deposit to guarantee your reservation.

For example, if you were staying 5 nights at $139/night, the total deposit would be $307.75. This includes tax.

The remaining balance would be due upon check-in. If you are just staying one night, we require one night deposit (full amount of your stay).

If you are staying two nights, the full amount of your stay will be required.

 

Why do you require a deposit?

Many other hotelsĀ  /motels will oversell rooms knowing a certain percentage of people will not show up.

If you come in after they have filled, even if you have “booked” a room, you may be out of luck, or have to stay in a downgraded room, etc.

These places do not require a deposit because the room is not guaranteed.

We guarantee your cabin for you. It will be ready for you to check-in by 3:00pm, we will not move you to a different cabin, or sell your cabin to someone else willing to pay more. It is reserved for YOU!

 

What is your cancellation policy?

It is a 30 day cancellation policy. If you cancel/change your reservation prior to 30 days out from your stay, you will receive a full refund but there will be a $50 cancel/change fee. If you cancel/change within 30 days of your stay, you are responsible for the entirety of your stay untill all of the nights are re-rented without loss (meaning at an equal or greater rate). When all of the nights are re-rented, you will receive a refund of your deposit, less the $50 cancel fee. If we cannot re-rent the nights, your credit card will be charged any remaining balance due.

There are no cancellations within 7 days of your arrival. And no refunds for early departures.

If this cancel policy seems strict, here are some recommendations for travelers insurance to insure you get reimbursed if something comes up and you are unable to make it.

Any changes made to a reservation will result in a $50 change fee. If changes are made within 30 days, any nights canceled will have to be re-rented or they become your responsibility. No changes with 7 days, unless you would like to extend your stay (if available).

 

Do you accept pets?

We can accommodate your four legged friends, however, only dogs and only in certain cabins.

Do you have fireplaces?

Yes, all cabins and suites have wood burning fireplaces. We will provide up to one bundle of wood per day if you are burning a fire. We have more for sale in the lobby for $3.50 per bundle.

Some rooms do not have fireplaces. Cedar Lodge Rooms do not, and the Knotty Pine Rooms have gas fireplaces instead.

 

Do you have private hot tubs?

No, but we do have a hot tub on property. It is free to use, but you can reserve a 30 minute time slot for yourself. It’s open from 8:00 am until 9:00 pm (last slot is 8:30 – 9:00 pm).

Do you have TV’s?

Yes, cable TV is available in every cabin.

Channel listings are in both local papers available at the front desk, free of charge.

 

Are there phones in the rooms?

No, no phones in the rooms.

Some cell phone service providers work great here and others do not. AT&T works perfectly. Sprint, Verizon, & Alltel only work in town and not here at the lodge. You can use our wireless internet for Skype and other internet calling.

 

Do you have hair dryers in the cabins?

Yes, in every one.

 

Are linens provided?

Yes, we have all the towels and sheets you will ever need!

 

Is housekeeping included?

We do come around everyday and replace dirty towels (if desired), get your trash, and replace your firewood if you are burning it. We do not do traditional housekeeping on a daily basis (clean, vacuum, etc…). If you would like traditional housekeeping, this can be arranged for a 15% charge on top of the total cost for your stay. If you are staying for over a week, we will come in about halfway (or once a week if you’re staying longer) and clean, change your sheets, etc… at no extra charge.

 

Do you have wireless Internet?

Yes, free and available throughout the property.

The SSID is “mcgregormountainlodge” and it should connect automatically. There is no password.

 

Do you have coffee filters in the cabin?

Yes. Our kitchens are fully stocked, meaning all of the pots, pans, dishes, glassware, silverware, and anything that you will need to do any cooking will be inside your kitchen. There is salt, pepper, dish soap, dish towels, etc, as well. We like to tell people to just bring clothes and any food they may want, and they will be set!

 

Are there barbecue pits on the property?

Yes! Every cabin has it’s own charcoal grill. We do not provide the charcoal, but usually have quite a bit that guests have left behind. You are welcome to it along with any lighter fluid available. It is pretty rare not to have a few bags on hand. If you do need to buy some, the Safeway grocery store in Estes Park sells charcoal.

 

Is there fishing on the property?

No, but we are very close to world class fishing.

Kirks Fly Shop is highly recommended.

Talk with Kirk or his staff about fishing in the area. They know their stuff!

 

Do you have air conditioning?

No. Just open your windows and enjoy the breeze coming in off the Continental Divide! We may have 20 days per year where the mercury tops 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Nights are rarely above 50 degrees. You’ll most likely turn on your furnace, even in July!

 

What is there to do here?

Yes, we actually get this question! Rocky Mountain National Park is the big draw of the area. Get out and explore this amazing slice of Heaven. There are hundreds of miles of hiking trails, stunningly beautiful drives, ranger led programs to teach you all about the local flora and fauna, spectacular wildlife watching,photography classes, etc. There are also many other great activities the entire family will enjoy! Wonderful shops and restaurants, miniature golf, bumper cars, bowling, swimming, guided indoor (and outdoor) rock climbing, horseback riding, white water rafting, and a great movie theater just to name a few.

And in the winter time, you can try snowshoeing, skiing, or go to the snow play area in Hidden Valley for some sledding. There are literally endless things to do. This area is very relaxing as well. Grab a book out of our library in the front office and curl up in front of a fire. It doesn’t get much better than this!
