From Denver International Airport

  1. Departing Denver International Airport, follow the "Airport Exit" signs, this will become Peña Blvd.
  2. Continue on Peña Blvd for about five miles. You will pass the exit for E470 (toll road). Look for the exit sign for Tower Road. You will exit Tower Road and take a right.
  3. Follow Tower Road for about four miles. Then, take a left on 104th Avenue.
  4. Stay on 104th Avenue for about 12 miles. You will pass through Thornton and Northglenn before arriving at I-25.
  5. Take I-25 North and exit 243 (Hwy 66). Take a left (over the Interstate) and stay on 66 (west) until you reach the town of Lyons. In Lyons, Hwy 66 will turn into Hwy 36 at the first stoplight. Stay on 36 through Lyons, following the signs to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Once in Estes Park:

Go through the first stoplight. At the second stoplight, go STRAIGHT (you must be in the right lane to go straight through this light). You will now be on Hwy 34. Stay on this road for about 5 miles. We will be on the right side of the road.

If you hit the entrance to the National Park, you have gone a half mile too far.

** If you would like to save about 20 minutes from the airport, you can take the toll road, E470.

  1. Departing Denver International Airport on Pena Blvd, you will take the exit clearly marked for E470. Then veer off to the right following the signs to Fort Collins (north).
  2. You will pass through two toll booths ($2 each) before exiting onto I-25 North.
  3. Take I-25 North to exit 243 (Hwy 66). Take a left (over the Interstate) and stay on 66 (west) until you reach the town of Lyons. In Lyons, Hwy 66 will turn into Hwy 36 at the first stoplight. Stay on 36 through Lyons, following the signs to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Via Highway 34 from Loveland, Colorado

  1. Follow Hwy 34 from Loveland all the way into Estes Park. This will take you through the magnificent Big Thompson Canyon (watch for the Bighorn Sheep).
  2. Once in Estes Park, take a right at the first stoplight you get to. This will put you on the 34 bypass. Stay on this road for about five miles, and we will be on the right side of the road.

If you hit the entrance to the National Park, you have gone a half mile too far.

Via Highway 36 from Boulder, Colorado

Take Highway 36 out of Boulder toward Estes Park. You will soon reach the small town of Lyons. Stay on 36 through Lyons, following the signs to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Once in Estes Park:

From Grand Lake, Colorado

  1. From Grand Lake, you will go North on Hwy 34 into Rocky Mountain National Park. This will take you through the park on Trail Ridge Road, a very popular drive that takes you high above tree line, and is the highest continuous highway in the United States.
  2. Once you get below tree line again, watch for Deer Ridge Junction. At Deer Ridge Junction, take a left. This will take you through Horseshoe Park.
  3. You will soon come to the Fall River Entrance to the National Park. Once you exit the park here, the lodge will be about half of a mile ahead, on the left side of the road.

    **Note that Trail Ridge Road is closed during winter. You can call the National Park service for current road status. 970-586-1206.
