We’re excited to share that we, Stephanie Leopold and Aaron Miles, have taken over the stewardship of McGregor Mountain Lodge.
For us, that word — stewardship — feels important.
McGregor has been part of Estes Park for generations. It has welcomed families, couples, adventurers, returning guests, and first-time visitors who come here looking for something a little quieter, a little more personal, and a little closer to the mountains. We feel incredibly fortunate to become part of that story.
Both of us are originally from the Midwest — Stephanie from Illinois and Aaron from Michigan. We spent nearly 20 years living in Chicago before the mountains began calling us west. Over time, Colorado became home, and our connection to the mountains continued to deepen.
When McGregor came into our lives, there was something about it that immediately felt special. The cabins, the fireplaces, the wildlife wandering through the property, the views into Rocky Mountain National Park, and the sense of history here all felt worth protecting.
Our intention is not to change what people have loved about McGregor. Instead, we hope to thoughtfully build upon it.
You may notice some small changes along the way — new guest experiences, seasonal offerings, refreshed spaces, thoughtful renovations, homemade treats, and little details intended to make your stay feel even more comfortable and memorable.
Some improvements will happen quietly and gradually. Others will evolve as we spend more time listening to our guests, our team, and the property itself.
That same philosophy is also part of the work we are creating through KNEW Integrative Health, where we explore the relationship between wellbeing, nature, connection, and the environments that help people slow down and reconnect with themselves. Over time, you may see subtle elements of that philosophy woven into some of the experiences we offer at McGregor — always in a way that feels natural to the Lodge and respectful of what has made this place special for so many years.
Most importantly, we want McGregor to continue feeling like a place where you can settle in, slow down, and feel at home in the mountains.
We are always open to hearing from you. If there is something you loved about a past stay, something you would like to see, or an idea that could make your next visit even better, please tell us. Your feedback will help shape this next chapter.
We cannot wait to welcome you, serve you, and continue caring for this very special place.
With gratitude,
Stephanie & Aaron
