Situated at 8,042 feet on the slopes of McGregor Mountain, McGregor Mountain Lodge offers spectacular panoramic views; the best in the Estes Valley. Known for our views, serene summer mountain setting, and cozy winter romantic getaways. We are frequented by an array of wildlife due to our quiet setting and proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park. We commonly see elk, bighorn sheep, mule deer, black bears, and wild turkeys, as well as a wide variety of smaller critters like rabbits, foxes, bobcats, and marmots. You’ll definitely want to keep you camera at the ready!
Soak in the views of Deer Mountain (10,013 feet) across the valley, and Sundance Mountain (12,466 feet) and the Continental Divide at the head of the Valley to the west. You will be at the base of Trail Ridge Road, which winds its way into the high country reaching heights over 12,000 feet on the alpine tundra. Take Old Fall River Road, the original, one way, dirt road to the Alpine Visitor Center (open seasonally) and loop back to your cabin for a spectacular mountain tour. Allow 2 to 3 hours.
Our northern property boundary borders Rocky Mountain National Park and we’re only about a mile from the Fall River Entrance, providing easy access to hundreds of miles of hiking trails. In addition, we’re only about 4.5 miles away from downtown Estes Park making it easy to grab groceries from the local grocery store, dine at one of our many delicious restaurants, indulge in some sweet treats at one of the ice cream shops, or simply enjoy one of the quaint coffee shops and browse the fine art galleries as you walk the river walk.
